BRIGID FERNANDEZ, Elder Law Attorney
From Social Work to Law
Before earning her law degree, Brigid Fernandez obtained a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree of Social Work from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Brigid worked for nearly 20 years as a Medical Social Worker in a St. Louis area hospital and pursued a law degree to continue her advocacy for older adults and persons living with a disability or chronic illness. It is her unique combination of education and experience that makes her a strong advocate for her clients. She is familiar with how the healthcare system works and is experienced in helping clients and their families navigate the maze that is long-term care.
Brigid graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law, where she received the Academic Excellence Award in Legal Profession. She was recognized for her commitment to public service with the 2006 Saint Louis University School of Law David Grant Student Attorney Award.
Brigid is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA)* as certified by the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF). Brigid is also a Certified Civil Mediator and a Veterans Administration Accredited Attorney. Brigid has also been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.**
